Sermon #1: God’s Mercy regarding consumption

Hits: 139

There are numerous passages supporting the concept of not condemning each other in drinking, smoking, or taking drugs. Romans 15:1 stands large.

15:1 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.
- Romans 15:1

Other pertinent passages include:

11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
- Matthew 15:11

26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
- James 2:26

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
- 1 Corinthian 10:31

22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
- Romans 14:22

These verse describes a very liberal approach, with the freewill of man allowed to express itself. It really is between you and God. So drink, smoke & take drugs, for the glory of God, if you allow.

We allow smoking Marijuana, in the scope of constitutionally protected religious freedoms within the Church of the Sacrifice. Marijuana is a spiritual, healing medication, a gift to us from God and an integral part of our church.

The “healing medicines” spoken of by Jeremiah is Marijuana, a healing, botanical, spiritual medicine.

However, this consumption should not be uncontrolled or unrestrained as it is unhealthy for the body. Along with the idea that what comes out of a man’s mouth is what defiles him, we see 2 Timothy 2:16.

16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
- 2 Timothy 2:16

This is of greater consequence than what is consumed. Here is the decisive and divisive point: if those who consume unhealthily also spend their time in ungodly talk, then they re lost and need gentle instruction.

25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
- 2 Timothy 2:25-26

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Many, many good Godly folk, given to good, godly talk and conversation visit establishments seen by churches as ungodly. This sermon is a REPROOF to the churches who condemn members of the body of Christ, unjustly.

We are taking our cross back, in Sacrifice we goeth forth.

7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
- Proverbs 31:7

And equally applies to one smoking marijuana, or even doing harder drugs. Oh! So much misery! Dread! And the addiction compounds matters.

Then your “religious family” kicks you out for being an addict, evidently you are against God. Not sure how that adds up, you are miserable and addicted! Kicked out and banished, so much MORE misery! And they say they do this in Christ’s name? Dread! Deathly Hypocrites! Thanks, ‘family’…meh.

Need a new family…Rainbow Family!

In final consideration, where does Satan gain greater advantage?

  • A) Condemnation of consumption where drugs are illegal and society tells people they aren’t good enough for God because of their habits, so they ignore the church.
  • B) Tolerance of consumption of alcohol, tobacco, Marijuana & other drugs and are welcomed to engage in God talk freely?

Satan hopes for A and is rejected from the world with an answer of B.

God, redeem us and bless us generously, in Christ’s name, AMEN!
